Grants of up to $7,675 are available from Hydro-Québec for homeowners planning to replace an existing electric or bi-energy heating system with a geothermal heating and cooling system. The system must be certified by the Canadian Geoexchange Coalition. This grant includes the financial assistance that is also available through the Rénoclimat program at Quebec’s Agence de l’Efficacité Énergétique.
Grants of up to $4,000 are available from Hydro-Québec for the installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system in a new home. The system must be certified by the Canadian Geoexchange Coalition.

Grants are also available for residential home building contractors. These grants are on a gradual scale of houses built and are in addition to the grants available to home buyer’s grants as mentioned above.
